Howdy Y’all,

My name is John Crowley and I am an SEO Consultant in Northern California. I am based out of Sacramento, but I work with clients from South Lake Tahoe to the Bay Area and all the way up north to Chico. My background is heavily IT and Tech based. I graduated from Chico State with a Bachelors in Information Systems. Currently, I am working on an MBA with a Cybersecurity Emphasis. I love the corporate world, but I am also a huge fan of entrepreneurship.

I enjoy SEO and digital marketing because it allows me to leverage my tech skills with human factors. Plus, people tend to like you when they give you $1 and you can bring them back $5 or $10. People are fun and I enjoy networking, meeting new people and helping brands grow.

I am deep in the cybersecurity and hacking communities. This field forces you to train, stay sharp, and keep relevant. Technology changes daily, you have to keep up. I do participate in some Networking and Systems Administration tasks when they arise. It’s good for the brain and keeps you sharp. My goal with cybersecurity is to eventually go Red Team, also known as Penetration Testing or Offensive Security. These are the folks that try to break in before the bad guys do.

A lot of people think there’s a huge difference between hacking and marketing, but in my experience, they work extremely well together. Some things, like human behavior can’t always be quantified into 1’s and 0’s. Plus, clients feel more comfortable knowing that their marketing guy has some hardcore tech skills.

Currently, my company structure is largely me acting in a freelance capacity. However, when certain contracts and projects arise, I have a team in place that I subcontract certain pieces to.

The target for this fiscal year is to turn this little operation into an agency. I find that some people prefer the idea of an agency, but many prefer the personability that comes with a consultant. Eventually I will figure out what works best, but until then I have a rad client roster to maintain.

I enjoy doing this and love helping people. If you ever have a question, comment or would like an opinion on something, I am easy to reach. I answer calls, texts, emails, messages, and the lot. If you would like to schedule a Skype call, I am totally on board with that too. Help me, help you.
